The Thai food got me thinking about, well, Thailand. Besides incredible food, and, as I hear, a great place to visit, I've got some personal connections.
When I was working at a homeless shelter in Seattle I met a bunch of YWAM Seattle folks who had done missions work in Thailand (a DTS for you insiders). My buddy Rustin got me to sponsor one of the kids who lived at the mission in Chiang Mai.
I think Rusty, and his wife Lynette, are headed back to Chiang Mai this fall to continue supporting the Akha people. Check out their site. Sponsor a kid. (let me know if you can't get to the site; it might be password protected)
Here's pix of the guy I sponsor, Ahkawn. (yeah, he's the one holding the ball...of course)
(if you haven't noticed, i just figured out the linking button...so i went nuts. sorry. sort of.)
